What they offer

Chabad of Shenzhen Downtown is a Chabad house in Shenzhen, led by Rabbi Shneor Zalman Cheruty.

There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. Kosher meals are available on a meal plan. A kosher store is run here. They kosher kitchens for the community.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged and public lectures are held. There is a library.

For children there is a preschool, a Hebrew school and after-school programmes.

Older children and young adults have bar and bat mitzvah instruction.

They officiate at circumcisions. Couples are prepared for marriage.

The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners, looks after the elderly, provides humanitarian aid and runs a free loan fund.

There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here.
