Chabad Taipei Jewish Center is one of more than 4,500 branches of today’s largest international organization involved with Jewish

Built through the generosity of Mr. Jeffrey Schwartz, a longstanding member of community and resident to Taiwan for more than 50 years. The most astonishing complex which spans 22,500 square feet is home to an upscale kosher restaurant, a 300-capacity ballroom, a Judaica museum, a synagogue, classrooms and a luxurious mikvah with a gold-leaf ceiling.

Originally from Israel, Rabbi Shlomi and Racheli moved to Taiwan in the summer of 2011 with their 1 year old twins, Mushi and Mendi.

With G-d’s help and guidance and thanks to the assistance of some very good people, a small community started to gather.

A busy week, hectic flights, business meetings and/or school assignments. Time to put the phone away, speak to friends and family face to face and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the holy Shabbat. Jouyos songs, inspiring talks and deliciously fresh kosher food.

What they offer

Chabad Taipei is a Chabad house in Taipei City, led by Rabbi Shlomi Tabib.

There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. Kosher meals are available on a meal plan. A kosher store is run here. They kosher kitchens for the community. A mikveh is available.

Classes run regularly and one-to-one study can be arranged.

For children there is a preschool, after-school programmes and a children's club.

Couples are prepared for marriage.

The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners and distributes food packages.

There is a women's group.
