Dear friends, Our family moved into this neighborhood in November 2005 with a view to play our part in serving members of the Jewish Russian community living in this area.

The JRCC offers many services to the whole community. Our local branch plans to offer more individual help and programs to fulfill the needs of our local community. We would be very happy to have you join us in this growing community. Our services are currently being enjoyed by many who have never experienced a synagogue nor had a Jewish Education. Come and join this growing community and enjoy those and many other events and experiences throughout the year.

What they offer

JRCC East Thornhill is a centre for Russian-speaking Jews in Thornhill.

There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. There is a Judaica shop. They kosher kitchens for the community.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged, courses from the Jewish Learning Institute are taught and public lectures are held. There is a library.

For children there is a Hebrew school, after-school programmes, a children's club and a mother-and-child group.

Older children and young adults have bar and bat mitzvah instruction, a bar mitzvah club and a bat mitzvah club.

They officiate at weddings, circumcisions and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage.

The center visits patients in hospital, looks after the elderly and runs a free loan fund.

There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here. The building is wheelchair accessible.
