Chabad Lubavitch of the Virgin Islands offers a wide variety of Jewish Services in a warm and friendly environment.

Chabad-Lubavitch of the Virgin Islands is dedicated to serving all Jews throughout the territory with Ahavat Yisroel – an unconditional love and concern, regardless of background and affiliation.

We strive to provide Jewish education, awareness and the means to practice our Jewish heritage. To create a warm and welcoming environment for all visitors, affording them a positive experience and the ability to vacation Jewishly. To service our local community and visitors in times of celebration, distress or unforeseen circumstances.

We encourage positive action on the part of every fellow Islander, to increase in goodness and kindness and to take part in the call of humanity - to brighten this world together and create a home for G‑d.

Rabbi Asher Federman grew up in Los Angeles, California and spent his teenage years studying at Yeshivas Lubavitch in Oak Park, Michigan. At eighteen he began to study at the Rabbinical College of America in Morristown, New Jersey and received his bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies.

What they offer

Chabad Lubavitch of the Virgin Islands is a Chabad house in St. Thomas, led by Rabbi Asher Federman.

There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. Kosher meals are available on a meal plan. There is a Judaica shop. They kosher kitchens for the community. A mikveh is available.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged and public lectures are held. There is a library.

Older children and young adults have bar and bat mitzvah instruction.

They officiate at weddings, circumcisions and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage. A chevra kadisha serves the community.

The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners, looks after the elderly, distributes food packages and provides humanitarian aid.
