Open Kitchen is OGK’s twice-monthly volunteer event — a relaxed, hands-on way to help prepare fresh meals for people in our community who could use a little extra care. No cooking experience needed. Come solo, bring a friend, or stop by with your crew.

Every community needs an anchor point, a place where folks can gather, relax, build and grow. Centrally located in the heart of Downtown, The Shul Downtown–CYP’s building–is revolutionizing Jewish life in the area, serving as a communal and spiritual home for young Jews in Raleigh.
The Heart
Shul is community; it’s the laughter, the business deals, the heart-to-heart conversations, the recipe swaps and the budding friendships. It’s where we nurture our spirituality and embrace the holiness within the mundane. It’s where we come to find a connection with something higher.
The Soul
CYP Raleigh is the only established Jewish presence downtown, serving as a welcoming home for Raleigh’s Jews. We’re building a community one Shabbat dinner, one class, one celebration at a time. Here, everyone can find a sense of belonging and tap into their Jewish identity.

The Shul Downtown
Shul is where we nurture our spirituality and embrace the holiness within the mundane. It’s where we go to find a connection with something higher. Join us for our bimonthly services every second and fourth Shabbat of the month —hefty kiddush + cholent included.
