A boutique Jewish community dedicated to Jewish life in Portola Valley and Woodside. It offers a place for people to engage with Jewish life in ways that feel personal and thoughtful—rooted in tradition and brought into contemporary life, woven into the fabric of the local community.
The mission of The Village Chabad is to build Jewish life one person at a time—supporting individual spiritual growth through personal relationships and creating a strong, vibrant Jewish community in Portola Valley and Woodside.
We provide various services to the local Jewish community, with a focus on educational programs ranging from Preschool through Hebrew School to advanced Jewish learning classes for adults. We also host programs for children, women, professionals and families, as well as Shabbat and Holiday meals, events, synagogue services.
Ultimately, we are here to help Portola Valley & Woodside residents with anything you might need, be it physical or spiritual. We’d love to hear what your definition of a Jewish community is and work with you to bring that vision to life.

What they offer
Chabad Portola Valley & Woodside is a Jewish community centre in Portola Valley, led by Rabbi Mayer Brook.
There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. They kosher kitchens for the community.
Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged and public lectures are held. There is a library.
For children there is after-school programmes, a children's club and a mother-and-child group.
Older children and young adults have a teen club, bar and bat mitzvah instruction, a bar mitzvah club, a bat mitzvah club and a young professionals' circle.
They officiate at weddings, circumcisions and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage. A chevra kadisha serves the community.
The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners, looks after the elderly, distributes food packages and provides humanitarian aid.
There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here.
