Founded in 1975, our mission was inspired by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson of sainted memory, whose love for every Jew was legendary.

What they offer

Chabad of Greater South Bay is a Chabad house in Palo Alto, led by Rabbi Yosef Levin.

There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. A kosher store is run here. There is a Judaica shop. They kosher kitchens for the community. A mikveh is available.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged, courses from the Jewish Learning Institute are taught and public lectures are held.

For children there is a preschool.

Older children and young adults have a teen club and bar and bat mitzvah instruction.

They officiate at weddings, circumcisions and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage.

The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners, looks after the elderly, works with children with special needs and counsels families facing cults and missionaries.

There is a women's group. Holiday programs run through the year, hands on. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here. The building is wheelchair accessible. They publish.
