MISHPOCHE is in 2019 opgericht, met als doel om alles wat te maken heeft met het Jodendom, toegankelijk te maken voor ieder die daarvoor in aanmerking komt. MISHPOCHE wil de behoeften van iedere Jood in Amsterdam en omgeving op een warme, liefdevolle en vreugdevolle wijze tegemoet treden. Dit op de sympathieke wijze van Chabad en zoals dat ook internationaal gebeurt. Natuurlijk met als inspiratiebron de Lubavitcher Rebbe.

MISHPOCHE ontvangt donaties en subsidies van filantropen, sponsors en stichtingen die graag willen investeren in Joods Amsterdam van nu en van de toekomst.

MISHPOCHE doet uitgaven met de goedkeuring van minimaal twee bestuursleden. Er wordt altijd voorrang gegeven aan de activiteiten met de hoogste prioriteit. MISHPOCHE heeft geen winstoogmerk.

What they offer

MISHPOCHE - Amsterdam Jewish Family Center is a Chabad house in Amsterdam, led by Rabbi Eli Spiero.

Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. Accommodation for guests can be arranged. They kosher kitchens for the community.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged, courses from the Jewish Learning Institute are taught and public lectures are held. There is a library.

For children there is a Hebrew school, a children's club and a mother-and-child group.

Older children and young adults have a teen club, bar and bat mitzvah instruction, a bar mitzvah club and a bat mitzvah club.

They officiate at weddings and circumcisions. Couples are prepared for marriage.

The center visits patients in hospital, looks after the elderly, works with children with special needs, distributes food packages and provides humanitarian aid.

There is a women's group. There is a men's club. Holiday programs run through the year, hands on. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here. The building is wheelchair accessible. They publish.
