Jamaica is one of the most popular and beautiful islands in the Caribbean with hundreds of thousands of Jewish visitors coming each year and a few hundred Jews living on the Island.
We established the first Chabad in Jamaica with a Jewish Welcome Center to service the spiritual and physical needs of the Jewish visitors to the Island as well as the local Jewish population.
Our goal: is to strengthen Jewish awareness and pride for the Jewish residence, and the thousands of visitors to Jamaica, regardless of background or affiliation. To spread acts of goodness and kindness to all humanity!

What they offer
Chabad of Jamaica is a Chabad house in Montego Bay, led by Rabbi Yaakov Y. Raskin.
There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. Kosher meals are available on a meal plan. There is a Judaica shop. They kosher kitchens for the community. A mikveh is available. Dishes can be toveled here.
Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged, courses from the Jewish Learning Institute are taught and public lectures are held. There is a library.
For children there is after-school programmes, a children's club and a mother-and-child group.
Older children and young adults have a teen club, bar and bat mitzvah instruction, a bar mitzvah club, a bat mitzvah club and a young professionals' circle.
They officiate at weddings and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage. A chevra kadisha serves the community.
The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners and looks after the elderly.
There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here. The building is wheelchair accessible.
