The call has always been the same. Governments change, the map is rearranged, yet Chabad-Lubavitch never stops responding to the call of the Jewish soul. Indeed, actions of loving- kindness, and Jewish living and learning are not items on our agenda, they are the agenda. Yesterday, today and tomorrow.

The word “Chabad” is a Hebrew acronym for Wisdom, Comprehension and Knowledge. The movement’s system of Jewish philosophy, teaches understanding and recognition of the Creator, the role and purpose of creation, and the importance and unique mission of each and every Creature.

What they offer

Bushey Chabad is a Chabad house in Bushey, led by Rabbi Yosef Sharfstein.

There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. They kosher kitchens for the community.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged, courses from the Jewish Learning Institute are taught and public lectures are held. There is a library.

For children there is after-school programmes, a children's club and a mother-and-child group.

Older children and young adults have a teen club, bar and bat mitzvah instruction, a bar mitzvah club, a bat mitzvah club and a young professionals' circle.

They officiate at weddings, circumcisions and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage.

The center visits patients in hospital, looks after the elderly, distributes food packages and provides humanitarian aid.

There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here. The building is wheelchair accessible.
