Chabad Lubavitch Torah Center serves the Glendale & River Hills area, as well as the many unaffiliated who use its services. With its warm and accepting environment, easy to follow prayer style, stimulating discussion and learning opportunities, Chabad Lubavitch Torah Center is the perfect synagogue for all worshipers regardless of affiliation or background.

The mission of Chabad of Glendale & River Hills is to provide each and every Jew, regardless of background or degree of commitment, the opportunity to discover the beauty of our shared heritage in a warm, welcoming and non judgmental environment. Chabad provides innovative educational and social services to the Glendale & River Hills community, in a spirit of love and brotherhood. Its purpose is to improve the quality of life through reaching out and fulfilling the needs of the community through its various programs. Chabad pledges to fulfill the mandate of the Lubavitcher Rebbe by increasing in acts of goodness and kindness for all humankind; thus preparing the world for the ultimate redemption.

What they offer

Chabad of Glendale is a synagogue in Glendale, led by Rabbi Mendel Shmotkin.

There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. Accommodation for guests can be arranged. There is a Judaica shop. They kosher kitchens for the community. A mikveh is available.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged, courses from the Jewish Learning Institute are taught and public lectures are held.

For children there is a preschool, a Hebrew school and a children's club.

Older children and young adults have a teen club, bar and bat mitzvah instruction, a bar mitzvah club and a bat mitzvah club.

They officiate at weddings, circumcisions and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage.

The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners, looks after the elderly, works with children with special needs, distributes food packages and provides humanitarian aid.
