Welcome! Your home for everything Jewish in South Dakota.

We're so glad you're here!

The Chabad Jewish Center is a place where everyone is welcome - regardless of affiliation, level of knowledge, or observance. You matter and you belong! At Chabad we pride ourselves in providing Jewish awareness, education and celebration, with love, joy and authenticity in a welcoming and warm environment. Based in Sioux Falls, we service Jewish communities in Sioux Falls, Rapid City, Aberdeen, Yankton, Vermillion, Brookings, Watertown, Marshall, Lead, and Dakota Dunes. For decades, South Dakota had been the only state without a rabbi serving here on a permanent basis. Instead, the Jewish community across the state had been served by students, visiting rabbis, and dedicated lay people. In 2017 Rabbi Mendel & Mussie Alperowitz heard the call and saw the urgent need, moving with their young children from New York to Sioux Falls and becoming the first and only resident rabbi in almost forty years.
