In the Cucumber Garden (A Kosher Dill Lamp) 2025

15"h x 6"w x 5"d - Buckeye burl, steel, Ultraviolet glass pickle, blacklight, glass - 120v plug-in

[My 600,001 Torah interpretation for tisha b'av]

The cucumber represents Hashem's abundance but foreshadows the coming destruction of Jerusalem (Isaiah 1:8). The cucumber's "destruction" in brine (a pool of tears) marks an end. Then, reborn in the glow of Hashem's light as a pickle, it emerges recognizable but transformed — darker, bumpier, tougher. Proof that the Children of Israel shall always 'Rise as a Great Lion'.
