With opportunities to expand the mind, excite the heart and touch the soul, our Center offers a wide range of learning, connection and outreach venues, for all ages, where experience is paramount and questions are encouraged and embraced.

Located in Suffern, NY, and serving the surrounding communities, our Center is premised on the idea that every individual has an indispensable contribution to make to the totality of the human experience.

What they offer

Chabad Jewish Center of Suffern is a Chabad house in Montebello, led by Rabbi Isaac Lefkowitz.

There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. They kosher kitchens for the community.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged, courses from the Jewish Learning Institute are taught and public lectures are held.

For children there is a Hebrew school, after-school programmes, a children's club and a mother-and-child group.

Older children and young adults have a teen club, bar and bat mitzvah instruction, a bar mitzvah club and a bat mitzvah club.

They officiate at weddings, circumcisions and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage.

The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners, looks after the elderly, works with children with special needs, distributes food packages and provides humanitarian aid.
