Are there 2 Chabad centers in Monroe?
Frequently people wonder if there are 2 Chabad centers in Monroe.
Answer: There is only one authorized Chabad center in Monroe.
Explanation: To be an authorized center, the Chabad Headquarters based in Brooklyn must authorize you via its regional director. The regional director of the state of New Jersey is Rabbi Moshe Herson of the Rabbinical College of America in Morristown.
With the blessings of Chabad Headquarters, Rabbi Herson appointed Rabbi Eliezer & Chanie Zaklikovsky to be the official Chabad representatives of greater Monroe Township, NJ (in 2002).
Anyone else using the 'Chabad' name is sadly operating in direct defiance of Chabad's structure and is unfortunately using the name 'Chabad' under false pretenses.
This structure was established by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn, of righteous memory.
