Yom Kippur Opportunities
In preparation for Yom Kippur and in line with the age old Jewish custom of giving charity and increasing our support for shuls and Chabad Houses across the world, WWC presents the list of honors and opportunities to participate in the service of Yom Kippur in a meaningful way that includes a charitable contribution to WWC.
To be clear, every single person is welcome at Chabad House for Yom Kippur and there is absolutely no cost whatsoever to participate in the service "we care about the Jews, not the dues". The list below is being released by popular demand in order to inform the participants and guests of the particular honors and dedication opportunities available. Some participants have, in the past, requested honors that possess particular significance towards a blessing for "peace-of-mind"; "success in new business ventures"; "spiritual growth"; or "physical health"... often, participants purchase a specific honor or Aliyah to the Torah and give it to a friend or significant-other as a gift, and sometimes a participant purchases an honor in dedication or memory of a loved one.
As usual, we will provide an opportunity for interested parties and individuals to place bids on the relevant honors at the Chabad house prior to the commencement of Kol Nidrei services Tuesday evening.
The purchase of an honor on Yom Kippur, whether for yourself or gifted to another, combines the power of Tzedakah, charity, to the power granted by actual honor itself. Every year several individuals (some in absentia) pre-order and reserve particular honors that are or may otherwise be in high demand. Those honors would be excluded from the ones offered on Yom Kippur.
