Chayala hails from Bel Air, CA where she grew up with a strong involvement in her parents’ Chabad House. In 2011 Chayala co-founded the International Young Chabad Women’s convention. Chayala also currently is the program coordinator for Chabad of Bel Air, as well as the principal of their growing Hebrew School.
Rabbi Chaim and Mrs. Chayala Markovits are the co-founders of the organization which was established in 2019. They relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in June 2020 and have been residing there ever since.
Rabbi Yonatan delivers weekly Talmud, Torah, & Jewish mysticism classes throughout Georgia to both Jewish and Christian audiences, appears in town halls and discussions, and uses his platform in an effort to make a G-dly, biblical and patriotic case for morality and unity.
Yonatan’s greatest desire is to teach people of all backgrounds to lead richer and more satisfying lives.

What they offer
Chabad of Rural Georgia is a Chabad house in Atlanta, led by Rabbi Chaim Markovits.
Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. There is a Judaica shop. They kosher kitchens for the community. A mikveh is available. Dishes can be toveled here.
Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged and public lectures are held. There is a library.
Older children and young adults have bar and bat mitzvah instruction.
They officiate at weddings, circumcisions and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage. A chevra kadisha serves the community.
The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners, serves military personnel and looks after the elderly.
