Chabad of Kenya, led by Rabbi Levi and Chaya Mushka Notik, operates under the guidance and inspiration of the Lubavitcher Rebbe – bringing the light of Judaism, warmth, and unity to the heart of Africa.

Our shlichus began in 2023, when we set out for Kenya with our one-year-old son, Meni. Today, together with our three children, we devote ourselves each day to our mission in Nairobi – to connect, inspire, and strengthen every Jew with joy, love, and genuine care.

A Vibrant Jewish Community – in the Heart of Africa Throughout the year, we work with hundreds of Jewish individuals and families living in Kenya – professionals, diplomats, entrepreneurs, and young families – all coming together to build a warm, united, and thriving Jewish community.

What they offer

Jewish Center - Chabad of Kenya is a Chabad house in Nairobi, led by Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Notik.

There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. Accommodation for guests can be arranged. A kosher store is run here. They kosher kitchens for the community.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged and public lectures are held. There is a library.

For children there is a preschool.

Older children and young adults have bar and bat mitzvah instruction, a bar mitzvah club and a bat mitzvah club.

They officiate at circumcisions.

The center visits patients in hospital and looks after the elderly.

There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here.
