During these years, Chai has developed to the point where it is an established strong contributor to Jewish life in the area, creating opportunities for people to express their Judaism in positive, joyous and meaningful ways .

Uniquely, each centre is financially independent and responsible for its own operation, with no external funding from Chabad head office.

What they offer

Chabad of Cheadle - Chai Network is a Chabad house in Cheadle, led by Rabbi Peretz Chein.

Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. Accommodation for guests can be arranged. They kosher kitchens for the community. A mikveh is available.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged, courses from the Jewish Learning Institute are taught and public lectures are held.

For children there is after-school programmes and a children's club.

Older children and young adults have bar and bat mitzvah instruction and a bat mitzvah club.

They officiate at circumcisions. Couples are prepared for marriage.

The center visits patients in hospital, looks after the elderly, works with children with special needs, distributes food packages, provides humanitarian aid and runs a free loan fund.

There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here.
