Chabad Hebrew School is an affiliate of Chabad RC of Thornhill Woods, a non-profit Jewish educational organization. We are pleased that you have chosen our school for your child’s supplementary Jewish education.
We believe that the Hebrew School experience should be fun, inspiring, and provide warm memories for a lifetime. Your child should gain a basic understanding of Jewish life and traditions and a strong grasp of the Hebrew language. Most important, we hope to instill in your child a love of Judaism and of Israel, a pride in being Jewish, and a commitment to a Jewish life.
The Bat Mitzvah Club is a club for girls in every sense. Not only will she be the main topic of discussion, but she’ll be learning about Jewish females and mentored by a hip young woman from your community. She’ll share ideas, friendship and fun with girls who are on the same Bat Mitzvah journey.
Our local Bat Mitzvah club is part of a worldwide organization that spans six continents, 30 countries and reaches more than 3,000 girls. With more than 400 BMC chapters worldwide, it’s safe to say that she’ll have Jewish friends across the globe that she can connect with in a real way. Our cultures may differ, but our hearts beat as one BMC.

What they offer
Chabad Russian Center of Thornhill Woods is a Jewish community centre in Thornhill, led by Rabbi Chaim Leib Hildeshaim.
There is a synagogue on the premises. They kosher kitchens for the community.
Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged and public lectures are held.
For children there is a mother-and-child group.
Older children and young adults have a teen club, bar and bat mitzvah instruction, a bar mitzvah club and a bat mitzvah club.
They officiate at weddings, circumcisions and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage.
The center visits patients in hospital, looks after the elderly and distributes food packages.
