I am committed to providing you with living Judaism to empower you to transform your inner world and your outer environment.

We are interested in spiritual development, not just for university students, but for all ages and backgrounds. We believe that Judaism is relevant and very important for Jews and non-Jews.

Merkos On Campus is an association comprising of a broad collection of members of the community including leading Rabbinical figures in Australia, and a diversity of professionals, business people and volunteers.

We want you to discover the joy of your heritage. The Torah is the blueprint for the existence of the World. You benefit and improve your way of life by learning the principles, to become happier, healthier and better people.

What they offer

Merkos On Campus is a Chabad house on campus in East St. Kilda, led by Rabbi Yankel Rapp.

Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. Kosher meals are available on a meal plan. There is a Judaica shop. They kosher kitchens for the community.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged, courses from the Jewish Learning Institute are taught and public lectures are held. There is a library.

Older children and young adults have a young professionals' circle.

They officiate at circumcisions and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage. A chevra kadisha serves the community.

The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners, looks after the elderly, distributes food packages, provides humanitarian aid and runs a free loan fund.

There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here. A mitzvah tank goes out from here.
