Jewish Community Center in East St. Kilda, VIC, led by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Jaffe.

Aliya is an organisation dedicated to supporting the emotional, spiritual, physical, and educational wellbeing of young people in Melbourne’s community. We provide a welcoming and supportive space where individuals can access guidance, connection, and practical support as they navigate everyday challenges. Our services include support with employment, volunteer opportunities, food & clothing assistance, wellbeing support, substance misuse education, and referrals to professional/community services when needed. We also provide career guidance + social support for people from diverse or challenging backgrounds who are looking to re-enter the workforce or pursue further education.

Based at our drop-in centre, Aliya HQ , we currently run four programs with weekly events aimed at supporting, connecting, and empowering young people in the Jewish community.

What they offer

ALIYA is a Jewish community centre in East St. Kilda, led by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Jaffe.

There is a synagogue on the premises. Accommodation for guests can be arranged. They kosher kitchens for the community.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged, courses from the Jewish Learning Institute are taught and public lectures are held. There is a library.

For children there is after-school programmes.

Older children and young adults have a teen club.

The center visits patients in hospital.

There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here.
