Rabbi Avraham Minsky was born in Paris, France and raised in Brooklyn, NY. After finishing High School in Brooklyn, he continued his education in France for five years and then returned to New York, where he achieved rabbinic ordination in 2015. He spent time doing outreach work in Morocco, Paris, Nigeria, Ghana and elsewhere. Mushka grew up in Port Washington, New York, where her parents serve as directors of Chabad of Port Washington. After graduating from Beth Chana Teachers Seminary, Mushka dedicated herself to Jewish education at schools in the greater tri-state area.
Having been raised with the ideals of Chabad, their passion to inspire and reach out to a fellow Jew is imbedded in them since their childhood. They are seeking to expand Chabad's programs where many more can experience Judaism and its traditions, with joy! Rabbi Avraham and Mushka moved to Newark, NJ in May of 2021. Together with their daughters, Shaina, Rochel & Leah , they open their doors to all Jews in Downtown Newark!

What they offer
Chabad of Newark is a Chabad house in Newark, led by Rabbi Avraham Minsky.
Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. They kosher kitchens for the community.
Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged and public lectures are held. There is a library.
Older children and young adults have a young professionals' circle.
They officiate at weddings and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage. A chevra kadisha serves the community.
The center visits patients in hospital and visits Jewish prisoners.
There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here.
