In November 1975, Rabbi Elimelech and Chaya Sarah Silberberg arrived in West Bloomfield as shluchim (emissaries) of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Over more than 50 years of dedicated leadership, they transformed a fledgling shul that barely attracted a minyan into a thriving Torah Center serving the entire Metro Detroit area. Embracing people of all observance levels, they have infused the growing congregation with a deep sense of family. Rabbi Silberberg takes the time to know each congregant personally, greeting every guest at his Shabbat or holiday table with a heartfelt l'chaim! and words of Torah.
