In August 2011, we (Rabbi Moishe Kavka and my wife Esther Kavka) and our two little toddlers relocated from Brooklyn, New York to Rockville, Maryland to establish Chabad of Rockville. We were inspired by the life of the Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of blessed memory, to bring to Rockville the light, learning, and love of Jewish life, and h ow the joys of Judaism can inform and enhance our everyday lives.
Particularly inspiring was The Lubavitcher Rebbe's devotion to meeting both the spiritual and physical needs of Jews by loving them unconditionally and nonjudgmentally. Our goal at Chabad of Rockville was to emulate these values, sharing the richness, excitement and warmth of Judaism in a welcoming and inclusive fashion.
Today, Esther and I continue to serve the Jews of Rockville, including visitors and newcomers. Come join us for a delicious, lively Shabbat Dinner… an inspiring Jewish learning session… holiday events… or a meaningful Shabbat Service. Can't wait to meet you!

What they offer
Chabad of Rockville is a Chabad house in Rockville, led by Rabbi Moishe Kavka.
Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. They kosher kitchens for the community. A mikveh is available. Dishes can be toveled here.
Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged and public lectures are held. There is a library.
For children there is a preschool and a mother-and-child group.
Older children and young adults have bar and bat mitzvah instruction.
They officiate at weddings, circumcisions and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage. A chevra kadisha serves the community.
The center visits patients in hospital and looks after the elderly.
There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here.
