Chabad of Truckee

Chabad of Truckee was founded in July 2025 by Rabbi Chaim and Bassi Kudan , who answered a heartfelt calling to bring joyful, authentic Jewish life to the stunning Sierra Nevada region. Positioned at over 5,800 feet, Truckee—known for its breathtaking alpine beauty and vibrant year‑round outdoor lifestyle—draws both local families and thousands of Jewish visitors yearly. Together with their son Pinny, the Kudans are dedicated to igniting Jewish life in this fast-growing mountain town.

Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, was the seventh spiritual leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement and the most influential Jewish figure in modern history. The Rebbe combined deep Torah scholarship with a visionary outlook on the world, viewing the world through a lens of infinite spiritual potential.
