The Chabad New Canaan Jewish Center is dedicated to strengthening and building the New Canaan Jewish Community by offering local Jewish resources that bring more positivity, Jewish education, charitable activity, good deeds and blessing to our lovely town.
We are about Judaism, not affiliation. Regardless of your background, and however you choose to define your level of Jewish observance or identity, the Chabad New Canaan Jewish Center can add spirituality, joy, study, community and connection for you and your family.

What they offer
Chabad New Canaan Jewish Center is a Chabad house in New Canaan, led by Rabbi Levi Mendelow.
There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. Accommodation for guests can be arranged. There is a Judaica shop. They kosher kitchens for the community.
Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged, courses from the Jewish Learning Institute are taught and public lectures are held. There is a library.
For children there is a Hebrew school, after-school programmes, a children's club and a mother-and-child group.
Older children and young adults have bar and bat mitzvah instruction and a bat mitzvah club.
They officiate at weddings, circumcisions and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage. A chevra kadisha serves the community.
The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners, serves military personnel, looks after the elderly, works with children with special needs and distributes food packages.
Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here. The building is wheelchair accessible.
