We are proud to be part of the world-wide Chabad Lubavitch movement of over 3500 Chabad Houses around the globe, serving Jewish communities in places as diverse as Beijing, Vietnam, Ghana, Alaska, and more ordinary ones like Kansas City, San Diego and now, Chula Vista. Each emissary couple is dedicated to understanding the unique needs, challenges and strengths of their community and to being a source of Jewish learning, celebration and support.

What they offer

Chabad of Chula Vista is a Chabad house in Chula Vista, led by Rabbi Mendel Katz.

There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. They kosher kitchens for the community.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged, courses from the Jewish Learning Institute are taught and public lectures are held. There is a library.

For children there is a children's club and a mother-and-child group.

Older children and young adults have bar and bat mitzvah instruction.

They officiate at weddings. Couples are prepared for marriage.

The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners and looks after the elderly.
